Adventure of Hyrule

Adventures of Hyrule was founded on November 29, 2002 by Matt K. (a.k.a. MakGameAdv). The site was active for less than two years before officially closing on October 18, 2004.

Matt is still an active member of the community (as of 2024). He was a notable contributor to Zelda Legends.

The website updates focus on information coming from Japan about the upcoming release of Four Swords + (Four Swords Adventures), The Wind Waker 2 (Twilight Princess), and The Minish Cap.

The game sections focus on the story and timeline of the Zelda games and feature quotes from the developers. Mak also hosted a collection of old interviews with the developers.

“It was an amateur project to do my own thing and learn how to do a fansite. I was influenced by Castlevania Dungeon and Metroid Database. The lack of basic info on the series from manuals and Zelda.com’s weird take inspired the info I covered, like interviews and story FAQ.

The simple navigation was inspired by NCL’s website design, where you have links for top page, index, etc at the bottom.”
